The shadow of Stalingrad: being the diary of a temptation
Heinrich von Einsiedel
Count Einsiedel, a great-grandson of Bismarck, was shot down in his fighter plane by the Russians over Stalingrad in the late summer of 1942. Though he experienced the usual savage introduction to his captors in the form of beating and starvation, he soon caught the interest of the authorities on account of his parentage, connections, and an intelligence of which they thought they might make use. The Contents are: Prisoner; Anti-Fascists; The National Committee; Officers and Generals; The Front; Politics; The Anti-Fascist School; The Collapse; The Dissolution of the National Committee; The Ghost of Stalingrad; The Return Home; and In the Eastern Sector of Berlin.
